What has the BIBLE said about knowledge?
Right from the first creation knowledge was mention in the book of Genesis 2:9
" The LORD God made all the trees grow out of the ground. These trees were nice to look at, and their fruit was good to eat. The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil grew in the middle of the garden." UKJV
When God created man He breathed into man and he became a living being from Job 27:3 " All the while my breath is in me, and the Spirit of God is in my nostrils"
We can see that why Adam became a living being was because the Spirit of God was in him giving him the living ability, because man was made to dominate, he naturally took the place he was created for, in having dominion over the animals and the great wisdom he had when he named the animals.
But there was something man did not have that was the very life of God in the new testament called ZOE.
This was what was in the tree and recall what the tree was called from Genesis 2:9 " the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil"
Can I make an illustration to help prove it is a singular tree if I say that Jesus was a man that was born in Bethlehem and He is the savior. Am speaking of the same man telling of His birth location and His mission.
This tree was one, likewise the mission of Christ that we might have everlasting life John 3:16.
Another question arises what is eternal life
In accordance to Jesus eternal life is to know God John 17:3 and this explains why Paul would cry out with everything he had that He should know God because this is the essence of Christ coming and death.
Then another question arises
Why would God tell man that once he eats of the tree he would die?
This is because God has a process, the process of growth. Have you not wondered that although Jesus being God in flesh Colossians 2:9 did not begin His ministry till about 30. So you see that the growth process is important to God and much more because Jesus ministry was just for three years one third the growth or preparation process.
How do we know now grow in the knowledge of the truth? It is through fellowship with the person of Jesus Christ in the person of the Word of GOD.
And this answers the question why GOD always came down in the cool of the day to fellowship with them Gen 3:8 So we see that Christianity is a relationship of knowledge (knowing God) and the beautiful answer is that   the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God are so deep, his judgments are unsearchable and His ways past findings. Romans 11:33
 Let us seek the knowledge of God, this is true Christianity and as we grow in the knowledge if God, we grow in the life of God we carry,the anointing,the grace and all round so seek the knowledge of God at all points in your life it is what makes your life look like that of God we represent.

Understanding Obedience What is obedience? Obedience is the demonstration of the multifaceted wisdom of God. It is proving God true in whatever He says and is a sincere act of faith. I need you to understand the wisdom and the power of God in His Word.
